Description

Handel's Messiah In twenty-four days and twenty-four nights Georg Friederich Handel, a German composer turned English subject, composed Messiah, one of the highest symbols of Baroque music. Weakened by illness, lacking inspiration and success, he found his creative peaks, making the libretto of his poet friend Charles Jennens an oratorio considered today as one of the greatest masterpieces in the history of music. A grandiose fresco, casting of choice. The eclectic holder of the cathedral organs of Nantes Mickael Durand - he is also a harpsichordist, gambist and tenor - rubs shoulders with Stradivaria Ensemble Baroque de Nantes, created in 1987 by Daniel Cuiller and with a solid reputation in France and abroad. Japanese soprano Michiko Takahashi, viola Jean-Michel Fumas, tenor Romain Champion and bass Geoffroy Buffière give voice alongside those of the chamber choir Aria Voce founded in 1995 in Rezé by Philippe Le Corf. And to respect tradition, a concerto for organ and orchestra fits in the middle of the oratorio. Handel also had the concern of a successful intermission! PMR Reservation: 02 41 24 16 40
