An impressive fairy tale of beauty, elegance and grace combined with stunning costumes, truly royal set design and the unique passion of the St. Petersburg Festival Ballet captivate the audience in an amazing way in the magical world of fantasy and dreams. An accomplished work of art accompanied by the live orchestra Sleeping Beauty was a beautiful child, ... A world of fairy tales, princes and a beautiful girl: the best ballet ensemble of the St. Petersburg Festival Ballet presents the fabulous story of one of the most popular children's fairy tales of our time, Sleeping Beauty. Originally known in Germany as a tale of the Brothers Grimm, the story of the girl, cursed by a wicked fairy and can only be saved by the kiss of true love, was adapted as a ballet and produced in 1890 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. Sleeping Beauty is still one of the most popular ballets and is now part of the international classical ballet repertoire to this day. The ballet Sleeping Beauty was created in close collaboration between Peter I. Tschaikowski and Marius Petipa, probably the most important choreographer of the 19th century. He fascinates and pampers the connoisseur with his formal perfection and his sophisticated choreographic and musical expression. Thanks to its fantastic direct character and theatrical splendour, the ballet Sleeping Beauty also captivates a wide audience. In addition to the grandiose set design of the brilliant director Vyacheslav Okunev, who works for the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg and La Scala in Milan, and their magnificent costumes, the elegance without borders and the carefree lightness of the "Saint-Petersburg Festival Ballet" set offer a dreamlike and magical version of a classical ballet that continues to fascinate.
